A Promise and A Prayer
A Promise
“Therefore the Lord himself will give you a sign. Look, the young woman is with child and shall bear a son, and shall name him Immanuel,” (Isaiah 7:14 )
A Thought
The immediate application of this verse is to King Ahaz and Judah. We see it as a Messianic promise. A young woman named Mary bore a child named Jesus. Jesus is the Immanuel, God with us. We are the receivers of an extraordinary promise that has the capacity to radically change our lives. May Immanuel be with you this season of the year and always.
A Prayer
Thank you, O God, for your wonderful promises that fill life with peace, joy and love. In the midst of the hectic activities of Christmas may I receive anew Immanuel. Amen.
